Aimees Story - Alzheimers
"Today (June 8th 2019) I shall be hiking, jogging and crawling (most likely) 100km in hopefully less than 34 hours along the Jurassic Coast. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone just like Alzheimers pushes the people it takes hold of and their family and friends out of theirs.
Having recently watched a close family member go through the rigmarole of Alzheimers it is a cause that is close to my heart.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice."
Aimee raised £1,142 (to date) for the Alzheimers Society which as you can see above is 228% of her target. This clearly is something many people feel passionate about and the support for her is incredible. She also pressed on and completed the incredible trek in 26 hours and 22 minutes!
Aimee has inspired others that at these events it's not all about how many KM you have trained (which is a hell of a lot by the way), she has proven that a lot of it is what you tell your self, and your mental endurance.
We are proud to have Aimee on board and to support such a fantastic cause, if you need any more information about Alzheimers or Dementia then please feel free to visit the Alzheimers Society here.
